Aspyr to paint us with horror in Layers of Fear

This is awesome. I have been wondering what Aspyr will start to bring us in 2016, and now we have an answer. Announced on the GameAgent Blog Aspyr has partnered with Polish developer Bloober Team to publish a new horror game entitled Layers of Fear. [Official Site]

Currently available in Early Access on Steam, Layers of Fear is a self-described "psychedelic horror" game that has you diving into the mind of an insane painter. Explore his mansion to discover secrets, madness and the ever-shifting surroundings.

You can buy an early access code direct from Aspyr here for $15.99 or over on Steam for $12.99. I'm not sure why Aspyr's version costs $3 more, but there you have it. Whenever possible I suggest buying directly from Mac porting companies to help support them better, even if the price is a little more.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS: OS X 10.10
  • Processor: 3.2Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
  • Memory: 4GB RAM
  • Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB VRAM
  • Storage: 3GB Available Space

The requirements aren't too high other than the quad-core processor, which I find strange, especially as a minimum requirement. We may have to wait till closer to release to see reccommended specs

Layers of fear will launch on all major platforms (and consoles) on February 16th. In the meantime, check out the trippy trailer below.
